Welcome to The Rhythm Section! To compliment your morning tea or coffee (don’t forget that chocolate biscuit!), I have looked for some simple, chilled-out covers of songs you already know. Take the weight off your feet.
While in most cases (all, I hope) you’ll recognise the song, it’s quite unlikely you’ll know the artist. They’re largely unknown, they generally don’t have proper videos (for which I apologise) and more often than not, don’t have a Wikipedia page, even, so I know very little about them. So, I’ll keep my blurb to a minimum, you’ll be relieved, and simply present the track.
Lastly, it wouldn’t be as much fun if I didn’t present you with a little challenge. But I’m going to be boring with my question. Tell me who sang the original. Just write a comment, is cool. This is all for fun.

I will admit that I had the cover version by Bruce Springsteen stuck in my mind before the fog cleared and I saw the Van!

I’ve got a greatest hits album of his, but I know all his tunes retrospectively. He always was just the coolest of cool.

He’s a good singer, this guy, he’s done a few decent acoustic covers. It takes a brave guy to tackle such a well-loved song.
